Our founder, Rachal Pinkerton, made her first lotion bar in the winter of 2022 after having split, bleeding knuckles. She would spend fifteen to thirty minutes three to four times a day sitting with bottled lotion on her knuckles to get them to heal. The problem was, it wasn’t working. Her hands were only cracking and bleeding worse. And on top of it, her lotion bottle ran out. 

Faced with the situation of needing to buy more lotion that was clearly failing her, she began asking the question if she could make her own. Within a month of using her formulation, her hands were healed. Not only were they healed, they were also moisturized. They were so moisturized that she only needed to use lotion once a week. Because of how little she needed to use, that first lotion bar lasted a year.
